This handbook fills and important niche in the botanical book market. The majority of plant aficionados, particularly amateurs, gardeners and horticulturalists, have little or no formal botanical training. While they may love and admire plants, they know little about plant biology or the science of how plants function and complete their life cycles. Although many of us would like to gt up to speed, available publications are too technical, and few will go on to make formal study of this subject.
Well done to Briza for bringing this book (it is a republication from the USA) to our shores. The subject matter may seem pass? and beneath those with formal training, but it is presented in a way to make it accessible and readily understandable to those who don't. Be warned though, this is still not light reading, and can cause some early nights.
