The authors: Braam van Wyk is professor in botany at the University of Pretoria. He is an authority on the classification of southern African trees and has a special interest in plant geography. The late Piet van Wyk was a biologist who worked for three decades as a researcher in the Kruger National Park. He authored several popular books on southern African trees.
