"Ek behoort aan een kerk en een party, in beide waarvan ek al lewenslank die enigste lidmaat en lid is, maar dit kan nog verander, want soms oorweeg ek om te bedank. Erik Holm, jarelange inwoner van Hartbeespoort en bekende entomoloog, wetenskaplike en skrywer, homself op in sy nuutste boek, Natuur-lik, wat die week bekendgestel is. Die boek is 'n bundle van sy gewilde korantrubrieke, Die Wêreld om ons.

Deur prof. Erik se o? lyk die mensdom se doen en late nogal vreemd - soms onstellend. Met sy vlymskerp humor maak hy wetenskap weer cool. So beskou hy vegetari?rs as plantmoordenaars. "Erger as vleiseters, want hulle pik op die mees weerlose lewende wesens, wat nie eers kan skree of weghol nie." Hy speel-terg deur die boek met onderwerpe soos "Die fout met "women's lib", "Die Harem-opsie" en "Misdaad betaal". Selfs die doodstema spring nie vry nie - in "Wie laaste lag, is skoppensboer" skryf hy "?ons instinkte lieg vir ons dat ons liggame onsterflik is".
Die boek sal die leser laat dink, nadink en lag omdat prof. Erik Holm se blik op die lewe ander verrassende fasette daarvan belig.
Prof. Erik he took self die illustrasies in die boek geteken. "Dit was terapie toe my seun sy nek gebreek het. Ek het die goed geteken en dan vir homin die hospital geneem om voor te lag."
