Mind-altering and Poisonous Plants of the World To order this book visit our Online Bookshop or contact us directly at books@briza.co.za Review By: South African Journal of Botany - Volume 75, Issue 2 It is with considerable delight that I noticed the recent arrival of Mind-altering and Poisonous Plants of the World on the shelves of bookstores. The publishers and the authors regularly surprise us with excellent contributions to plants. This contribution is very timely as there is a tremendous upsurge in interest in South African plants used for medicinal purposes worldwide. Many plants that are potentially toxic and dangerous are commonly used as ornamentals, pot plants or in floral displays. They may not only be toxic if digested but may cause irritation, skin disorders and allergies that are difficult to trace. ![]() |
